I have been looking for a way to efficiently save the Canon EOS R5 screen images. Can anyone help?

Here is a random image example:

It is my intention to save menu items like this on a regular basis to create my own personal explanations of how to use the camera.

Hi Rick,

As far as I know you cannot do this 'in camera' (another item for the R5 wish list?). I don't use the (free) EOS Utility app, but I believe you can use it to control/ record images off the camera - which may (or may not!) include seeing/ capturing the menu screen/ GUI. Possibly worth having a look first?

If that fails, one (very) expensive way to do it would be to use something like an Atmos type external recorder, a (very) cheap way to do it would be to shoot images of the screen with another camera and a middle ground-ish way would be to use an HDMI adapter/ notebook set-up - one example of which can be seen in this YouTube tutorial with an alternative version shown in this YouTube demonstration.

This may give you some leads to follow, but I can make no recommendations as I haven't carried out this procedure, or used any of these devices.

If you do find a ridiculously easy way to do it, please come back let us all know... :)

Phil

I just save settings to card / transfer to PC then if I need to do a re-set I have them.
I've done that too. It's a good idea. Sometimes for a fresh restart I prefer to go through everything as I might make changes and keeps me tuned up for the next camera.
