I am trying to get back into the photography mood and away from depression.

Small Coffee is a minimalist that has been done before, but not by me. Don't worry, I drank the coffee when I was done.

Behind the scenes:
The cardstock both black and white have seen better days and required masking and exposure changes to make the white white and black black.

I used a thermos that was smaller then the saucer to raise it off the cardstock...keeping it out of focus.

Well done Dean. I really like how the light reflects on the rim of saucer and cup. I feel like coffee now.

Nice photo, Dean! Appreciate you including the "how to" photo along with it.

So....

Was that coffee espresso? French press? Drip? Pour-over (annnd at what temperature?) Percolated (oh the horror!) Were the beans freshly roasted (or store-bought? Gaaag me!) Were the beans freshly ground (ceramic burr grinder)? Or (for the sake of all humanity) please tell us this wasn't instant coffee (just kill me now! ).

(Nice pic, BTW.)

In your ramblings I cannot believe you didn't get the correct answer. Hint: Hot water isn't involved.
(and the bean is French Roast, BTW)

I wasn't rambling, I was ranting. Get it straight!

Finally, REAL men roast their own beans! Just sayin'.

(LOL, thanks for the good laugh!)
