So, not only was the waiting for the camera agony, but I decided to learn how to fly down my steps on Friday night, the day before the camera was delivered, and broke a bone in my wrist. It's going to be awhile before I can actually use the camera, although I did set it up!
I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you heal quickly and that the pain isn’t too bad. I look forward to seeing your photographs when you are all better.

Learning to fly before learning to land is NOT recommended. Now is the time to learn to use the EOS utility program on your smartphone and shoot remotely. It works great, and no wear and tear to your poor wrist. Heal fast!

Hahahaha! So very very true! Thanks so much for that idea MaraLee! I have the program on my smart phone but hadn't thought about using it. I will set up tomorrow, my peonies are starting to bloom so I will cut some and bring them in!
I did put a really stiff brace on my hand and put the 100-400 on the camera, I was able to do a little bit of bird photography before I retreated to the icepacks!
It is going slowly but surely. I actually went to work on Wednesday and figured out what I could and couldn't do so they can adjust my schedule accordingly for the next few weeks. I have spent plenty of time setting up the menus and the double back button focusing. I'm used to back button focusing (it's the first thing I change after turning a camera on) but using two for they eye AF is going to take some getting used to. This might be the fastest I set up the custom menus and learn the new features!
The next time I go flying it will be with an instructor and a para-gliding setup!!!!
