Dont travel heck of a lot but find myself taking macbook nowadays instead of ipad as i venture into world of editing.

Yeah a tad heavier and bigger no dramas just cut back on underwear when packing.....

I find myself taking my MacBook instead of my iPad as I venture into the world of editing.
Same with me: MacBook Pro and—this is important to me—a Magic Mouse.

To simplify matters I have set my R5 to record all images to both the CF Express card and the SD card. Conventional wisdom is to use the SD card as either a reserve for when the CF Express is full, or to use it for jpegs (heaven forbid!) and/or videos.

Having images on the SD card makes transfer to the MacBook Pro straightforward (it has an SD card slot); I also don't need to unpack yet another pair of undies to make way for a CF Express reader and its cable.

Actually I have mine setup as CF=RAW, SD=JPEG.

My file structure on the computer is YEAR/MONTH/LOCATION/CR3 (or JPEG). I use the JPEG Folder only for culling through the photos for those deserving editing. JPEG's load much faster.
