I am very glad to hear you enjoyed the architectural photography article on my site. That was, and still is, one of the "foundations" articles and was published on a few major photography sites with my permission.
You are right, looking down or up is not much favored. Tar Doodles took years to photograph. I still see some and try to photograph them. I saw your post titled "Looking Down"; it was pleasing, with the pictures in it.
