Can anyone suggest the best video settings to use on the R7 for a video virgin? I have never felt the urge to use any of my stills cameras for video but I thought it would be good to shoot a bit of footage on my upcoming trip to Africa so that I could send it to "the folks back home" home via whatsapp (if I have internet connection) as none of them have ever been to Africa & I'm sure they would prefer that to my boring photos (none of them are photgraphers either).
All the You Tube videos seem to be aimed at would be Spielbergs & those who intend to post process the footage later. I just want some basic set it & forget it settings that will allow me to quickly do a minute or so video in between taking proper photos (apologies to any videographers out there- it's just not my thing).
I guess I'm after something that is pretty much a full auto version although knowing how to set it for slo mo would be good too.
I fly out in 10 days time so it needs to be pretty idiot proof so I can get to grips with it quickly. I haven't even sorted the R7 out properly for stills yet but it will mainly be my back up camera this time round using either the kit lens 18-150 (if it arrives on time) or the EF-S 18-135 STM.
Any pointers always appreciated. Thanks
