Hi all, I hope this is in the right area, (and apologies if not! 😇) I am struggling to get my head around the new Autofocus system/tracking. It doesn't help I've only had 1 real trip out with the new R6 II since getting it 3 months ago! But, I am struggling to understand how to get it correctly setup, so I am after any pointers/tips/other threads people may have from photographing aviation before! The YouTube world is a bit of a minefield. Currently, I've got it setup so that within the AF...
I thought this video was really interesting. How much was skill? How much was luck? I suspect the former is required, and the latter really, really helps....
just got of phone from my bricks and mortar family camera store where I get corporate discount. As I’ve bought everything thing from there except second hand r5 second hand back pack. SD cards to double in more in price next 6 to 8 weeks. Maybe you guys heard the same. Shortage of components or components used in EV cars
Thread 'Photos from inside my new submarine'
A submarine was delivered to my driveway yesterday. https://www.mysubmarines.com/subsea-scooter.html Okay, I don't really have a submarine, but the lens does come with a C mount. Ha ha. ;) These are from the R50 with the Javelin Precision Optics CCTV Lens, 12.5-75mm f/1.8, designed for a 2/3" sensor. I paid $35 for the lens + adapter. What the hell am I going to do with this thing?
Thread 'Failed Project: Cheap Dual Mount 85mm'
The goal was to find a fast 85mm that I could adapt to the Canon R5m2 and the Fuji GFX. The Rokinon f/1.4 in Sony A mount didn't fit either of the adapters I purchased (Kipon or Fotodiox) because the adapters were for autofocus lenses and the lens is manual focus. The pictures below illustrate the problem. The adapters have a slot-and-tab arrangement that mirrors the Sony autofocus mount. The Rokinon (aka Samyang) does not, but none of the items I bought mentioned that there are two...
Newbie on the R5ii and going true allmenu setups. When assigning a register/recall to a button , it seems that the drive mode cannot be saved?
Thread 'Carenar 135mm f/2.8'
Carenar 135mm f/2.8, M42 mount, purchased from Goodwill for $8.99, total cost $$20.76. I unboxed it, added the M42-RF adapter, and took some pictures around my yard at f/2.8.
Thread 'Canon AE-1 with a 256 GB SSD Memory'
Apparently it comes with a 13" view finder. Lost Luggage website sells all unclaimed baggage from all US Airports. Canon AE-1 @ Unclaimed Baggage
My wife is a veteran Goodwill shopper who has her own booth at a local vintage antique mall. I'm on the lookout for vintage lenses, and found this lot of three EF/EF-S lenses that appear to be in good shape. Just FYI... https://shopgoodwill.com/item/255121418
Think @Only RF has one has it performed as expected or exceeded expectations. Loaded question actually doing another rodeo Saturday night and if I get excess shutter actuations when shooting back button focus at low or high speed continuous will go back to canon for a check up but has new mother board software etc after insurance claim, apparently canon austrlia hasn't heard of it. According to forums etc its only a R6ii problem not R6i or R6iii so my camera store gonna move mountains and...
Just looking for a cheap telephoto lens for my R8 both does not have IS. I am in Hawaii. Inputs are appreciated.
Thread 'Reality vs Fantasy'
One of my incisors cracked and I needed a crown. So I asked the dentist to make the temporary one blue because a) my ancestors were Vikings, and b) the Bluetooth wireless technology is named after the Viking king Harald Bluetooth. My wife says I'm weird. I can't say I disagree.
Hello folks, I need to decide between these two flashes, Godox V100c or Canon EL-5 and I’m interested in your opinion on which one would be better to use with the Canon R6 Mark II + RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L. The price is currently fluctuating between these two models, so I need to make a decision... Thank you in advance!
After having problems with one of my traditional lens caps, I bought a 77mm magnetic Kase Cap and Inlaid Ring. I like it a lot, but I haven't tried it in the field. @ShipleyNW has the Kase filter system and expressed disappointment in the "holding power of the cap." See https://rfshooters.com/threads/what-photography-related-item-have-you-bought-or-sold-this-week.2548/post-34424 That's good information. I have priced out caps/rings from Kase, Haida, Urth, Nisi, K&F, PolarPro, Freewell, and...
Wasn't quite sure were to post this. I'm looking for an inexpensive printer (preferably inkjet), and by inexpensive I'm referring to both the printer itself and ink cartdridges. My goal is to print out a buch of 4"×6" prints to place them into an album (like what people did in the old film days). I have owned Epson and Canon printers in the past, and I remember how frustrating it was to calibrate the monitor and get semi-decent prints. I also know of a few good online labs, but I don't...
B&H has this on sale for the next day: Nanuk 935 28.5L Hard Case with 19L Pro Photo Kit insert. I'd buy this If I didn't already have a rolling camera suitcase. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1820231-REG/nanuk_935s_280bk_0a0_935_hard_case.html
Thread 'Consequences Of Buying Too Much Camera Gear'
This is what my wife said she would do to me if I bought any more camera stuff. I believe her.
I have 7 RF L lenses, so some experience. Recently bought a refurb 50 1.4 and today noticed if I turn the lens upside down, something is sliding to the down end internally with a small “thud”. 100 percent of the time when lens is unmounted. What might be going on here? Thanks!
