What are you guys using for gear insurance? I’m not a professional photographer, but I have a pretty decent inventory of camera gear that I would like to protect. I keep seeing various adds on Facebook for gear insurance, but I’m pretty sure most of those are some sort of scam and won’t pay out if you actually need it. What’s good and reliable and a decent price?

When I post my photographs how do I add the camera metadata for the pic? Is it included within the jpeg, or do I need to write it in? Thanks

Something interesting that I found out while setting up my new R6 mkIII. Not only will it record 24-bit audio, but it also will record 4 channels of audio. You can us the multi-function hot shoe to record two channel, AND the 1/8" mic input to record another two channels, OR the internal mics along with the 1/8" input. Of all the videos and reviews that I read about the R6 mkIII, I don't think I ever heard this feature mentioned. This is a great feature and should be talked about more. And...

Taken from both sides of the gate. There was a slight breeze so I had to hold on carefully as the DoF was extremely shallow. At the distance the F/stop could have been either f/1.4 or f/16 there wasn't much difference!

I took the new-to-me lens for a spin today along the Sacramento River. What I'm finding out about vintage lenses is that Canon's focus peaking works better with some than with others. Edited with DxO Photolab 9 and FilmPack Time Machine. The last photo is the Cornish House near Clarksburg.

Interesting. Buying gray-market camera equipment has always been a bit of a sticky subject and if a recent report is anything to go by, it could become even stickier. My wife and I are taking a trip to Germany and Belgium later this year, and I'm tempted to take just one lens with the R5m2. But I can't leave the RF 45mm f/1.2 at home because ... well ... because it's f/1.2. As it happens, I have recently acquired a good selection of Canon FD and Minolta MD prime lenses. I didn't notice it too much with the shots of just players on their own out on the field but when the background behind them was in the framing it becomes more evident. Really hope the R7 MkII will have this issue resolved!

Badly want to hire one but seemingly impossible. Just wondering if they are truely head and shoulders above everything in canon line up. I know they should be. Specifically for night rodeos in my case R5 did ok in supplied image yes tad noisy I switched to r6ii shortly after this image noise was reduced a bit

The refurb deals on Canon’s Web site come and go sporatically. Right now the Refurbished Canon R7 is available for $1159, free shipping. I paid a little more than that for a refurb R7. So this current deal is pretty darn good. Currently planning a trip to Tokyo, and I'll be bringing along my R6II. Still haven't decided on the lenses. For recent overseas travel, I brought my R6II with RF 16-28mm f2.8 STM and RF 24-240mm f4-6.3. The reason why I'm having second thoughts about bringing either of those two lenses on this trip is because I''ll be traveling during rainy, monsoon season. These two lenses are not weather sealed. Has anyone created a photo book? I’m considering doing one, and wanted some recommendations, tips, tricks, etc. I’m looking at some of the online photo book sites like Shutterfly or some of the others. Any experience with any of the sites? Any tips on how to prepare the photos? I’m starting my research now, and any direction here would be greatly appreciated.

@StevenAunan convinced me to give this a try. The two lenses are Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. (II) released Jun 1973 and a Canon New FD 28mm f/2.8 released June 1979. I use these on my Canon FTb released March 1971. For this setup my focus was on the forward edge of the cutting block the glass pitcher of flowers is sitting on... 36" from the R5 focal plane. I used the same ISO and only changed the Aperture, then shutter speed. Edited in Lightroom for Camera Neutral for the profile and Auto...
