As a hobbyist, I am critiquing my photos before during and after editing, I remember these quotes:

"No one is born a Photographer."

"A photographer went to a socialite party in New York. As he entered the front door, the host said 'I love your pictures - they're wonderful; you must have a fantastic camera.' He said nothing until dinner was finished, then: 'That was a wonderful dinner; you must have a terrific stove." ~Sam Haskins

Also I find it interesting when I am walking around with my camera (with 100-500) down at my side I enviably have someone say, "Nice camera." I honestly think I could attach a large painted cardboard tube and get the same comments.

"If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough” - Robert Capa

  • f/8 and be there.

Purportedly quipped by 'Weegee', a specialist in New York crime scene photography (the more lurid the better), when asked to share the formula for his success.

More on the questionable origin of the mantra.

Excellent Beginner's Camera, and a Very Good Enthusiasts Camera
The R50 is a fine entry level/beginner/casual stills camera. It is not a pro level camera, but would be fine for hiking, street, family photos...

I bought the Canon R6 in 2024 to replace my Canon R7. After researching the market, I decided to go with the R6 instead of the R6 Mark II. Why not...
