Thought I would start a thread for abandoned building and “Architecture“ seemed to be the best fit.

Shot this abandoned mental hospital dairy farm a few years back. Quite the history, Northern State Mental Hospital -Washington if anyone is interested on learning more. Hoping to go back up again this summer.

I thought I was not going to comment on people’s pictures, but I think I WILL post when I have positive comments. You seem to be very good at composing your shots to avoid the distorted look and bent/converging lines of many wide angle shots. I also like the “deep focus” of your pictures. Nicely done. I think you would be good at taking pictures of bridge structures.

Thank you.

I shoot real estate listings to help support my hobby. So I tend to be cognizant of making sure everything is level and to look at different perspectives as I plan my shot. Of course key is also to use a good rectilinear lens that doesn’t impart distortion in the first place. while pricey, I can’t recommend the RF 15-35mm lens enough.

If on a budget, the EF 16-35mm f/4L is a fantastic option as well.
