The car in the photos passed us on the highway on the way home, so the sport coupe factor is still intact!

It actually looks fast sitting still. Maybe this is the old curmudgeon coming out in me, but I wish they would bring back some of the styling from the 50s and 60s. Make a car look distinctive, instead of the generic stying of today. With a few exceptions, they all look the same today. Just about every SUV looks the same to me.

Someone told me that effective aerodynamic styling in vehicles came only after computer simulations were accomplished. Those shapes save fuel. Maybe that is why cars look alike.

You’re right. Aerodynamics and fuel efficiency are everything, and I can’t argue with that. Still, I wish they could make them with a little bit of character.

I hadn’t thought about that. My mind went immediately to the crass commercialism/marketing side of things, when the more sensible explanation is to protect the merchandise from the otherworldly heat we have down here. Maybe I’m getting too cynical in my old age.

I will admit that is a default setting in my mind. However I do remember encountering UV blocking window film (not a recent thing as far as I can remember), which made me think..
