Canon has announces a $17K 800mm F5.6, and a $20K 1200mm F8 lens for the RF Mount. Full details in the DPReview article:

I think I'll be sticking with my 100-500 for a while longer! :)

I will also stick with the RF 100-500 especially looking at the UK price being 50% higher than the US price e.g. £22449 ($30372) vs $19999 (US).

Yeah UK and EU prices are crazy. The price of 1200mm is more than my 3 year salary as a teacher in Poland! hahaha

These are really specialty lenses, so I don't expect them to sell a boatload. I've got 1.4x and 2x converters. Drop $13K on a 600mm f4 and I essentially have those as well, right?! Or am I not doing the math correctly?!

Yes, but as was pointed out to me recently, US price is sans tax whereas UK price includes tax @20%. Not such a big difference if you then include US taxes.

Trouble is the highest US sales tax tops out at 8.56% this still means the US price is $21741 vs $30372 in the UK, I know which one I would prefer :)

In Washington State, US our sales tax is 10.2%

I wonder if you will be able to rent these. :)

Thanks, I googled sales tax and it said California was the highest, you still have a better price than here.

I am hoping to try them out on a Canon day in April, they will have both available I will try them if I get chance.
