This was a fabulous lens on the Canon 7DII, but I haven't used it much on the R6 so I figured I'd provide some samples. The lens hunts a lot with AF, and seems to have trouble getting focus. In fact, when I first mounted the lens it wouldn't auto-focus at all for the first minute or so. It works better when using MF. The R6 also does not record the lens manufacturer in the metadata, but it does record shutter speed, f-stop, ISO and focal length. Since this was just for testing, I didn't try very hard to get good images (and they've been lightly edited using Luminar Neo).

Thanks for posting this, I've always been open to third party lenses but had got the impression it's was hit and miss when adapting on these, sadly Canon are not making it as easy as it should be.

This lens was on my list but hunting rules it out, so this has been exceptionally useful, shame though as nice results.

Yeah I wanted to keep this lens after switching from the 7DII to the R series, but I think I’ll be selling it…

Since I also have the Canon R7 with the latest firmware, here are some samples with that camera and the discontinued Viltrox EF-R2 adapter. The Sigma lens functions MUCH better on the R7. No AF hunting like on the R6, but I did have to use manual focus to "jumpstart" the AF. Once the desired subject was in range, the AF worked flawlessly. However, the Viltrox lost communication with the camera after half a dozen shots.

And here are a couple shots using the Canon EF-RF adapter. This setup works just fine on the R7. I paid $300 for the refurbished Sigma lens about two years ago, MPB will only give me $200 for it now, and current retail is $669. I think I'll keep it. Unfortunately, Sigma only offers firmware updates for Art, Contemporary, and Sports lenses.
