having a relatively clear night the other night I thought I would try to see what the difference in MP of the R5 would offer vs the 5D. I have read about the difference but seeing is believing they say.
Using my trusty 70-200mm, conscious of that trailing that can take place at 200mm I set a low f stop and using photopills i got the rough time needed to try and reduce trails for the shutter speed, left me about 1.28 secs, or meant to anyway.
I set the tripod up just outside the house and pointed at the moon, i used the autofocus and was impressed with how it tracked on well, i can do better as i practice more. After taking a shot of the moon (attached the shot and then the crop) i was impressed with how much more detail the R5 picked up over my 5D.
My surprise shot was then when I pointed at the brightest star just to the lower left of the moon (knowing it was Jupiter) just to take a shot and not expecting anything. I was blown away when i zoomed in on the shot, originally that was just a dot on the dark screen. When zooming in and able to distinguish Jupiter and 4 of its moons! (Although blurry). Not one of my best photos to be sure but for sure is one that blew me away as to the capability of the R5 and its resolution
