I must say I'm very impressed with the image quality of the 28-70 f2 which I just purchased. I've read so much about this lens before buying, but tests on grids and color cards are one thing, and actually using the lens is altogether different.
Here are a few samples from the first day.
What impressed me most is the last photo. I saw the "star" above the apartment block when I was taking the picture -- fine. After I opened the photo on the computer, it turned out there are 3 stars visible there, and there's also an airplane there!
And now for the best part: what I thought was the bright "star" turned out to be Jupiter and in 1:1 crop I found I could see two Jupiter moons!!!
All this from a hand-held camera, at 1/6 second, on a 53 mm focal length!!!
Mind-blowing quality for a zoom.
