Hi all

i want to set up a button on my R5 Mkii to switch to single point focus with eye detect off.
Can i do this on one button?
If i need to set up two buttons one to switch eye detect on/off and one to go straight to single point focus, how would i do that?

I had a R5 and now have the R6III. I've been doing what you have requested since 2020. I don't remove AF off the Shutter Button which leaves both the AF-ON and Star * buttons open. The AF-ON is set to go into Zone AF [1] and the Star* goes into Single Point AF.

Go into Custom Buttons for Shooting. You can get there by press the two camera icons on the Q screen (bottom left one first) or use the that new light green set of menus third from the left.

Scroll down to AF-ON or Star *. Pick the one you want and select Metering and AF Start. Press Detail set on the bottom of the screen.

This is how I'm set up for Single Point on the Star* button. The AF-ON is identical except for AF Area it is set to Zone [1]. You can select any AF area you want to use on either button. All the other options are set to off and unchecked.
