Greetings! Yet another RF-mount shooter arriving in from DP Review.
I'm currently living in Reston, Virginia, and while my primary photographic interest is things which fly (living or inanimate, like 'em both), but I don't restrict myself to that. I've been into photography and using Canon since 1980, when I started with a Canon A-1 FD mount film SLR. I also had a T-90, an EOS-3 (which I still have), a few DSLRs culminating in a 5D Mark IV. I came on board mirrorless with the R5 in 2020 and haven't looked back. I have two bodies--an R3 which gets used primarily on aircraft and an R5 which is primarily used on birds. I've pretty much cycled years of EF-lens acquisitions to convert over to RF, but find myself getting the most use out of the RF 100-500.
As an introductory picture, here's an immature hawk taken with the R5 and the RF 800 mm f/11. The picture was taken in a sleet storm out my back deck door here in Reston.
