Had my first outing with my R6 Mk2 at the VSCC meeting at Silverstone this weekend - attached are a selection of images including a couple of crops. The camera was set up for vehicle detect and fitted with the RF 100-500mm. I'm fairly pleased with the results although I should have used a slower shutter speed to give a better sense of motion. First impressions are that the speed and accuracy of focus is very good, although I need to adjust the settings as the camera was too prone to switching between subjects when there was more than 1 car in the frame. Also I felt that the camera was slightly slower than my previous R6 Mk1 to wake up from standby mode. A bit of battery information (it's the new one that came with the Mk2) - I took 422 images (Large jpg + small RAW) using occasional slow speed continuous drive and still had 55% battery life left at the end of the day.

Thanks, it was a good day albeit quite windy as Silverstone is most of the time.

Thanks. UV filter was used - Hoya Pro1 digital UV(0).

Top job. Amazing reading on internet how many people just "dont get on with" r6ii.

I oftn think crikey if i can use it and understand it reasonably well anyone can

Pic 7/10 with all the greys thought may have been tricky but brilliant mate

Hi. Great shots. What were your settings?
Thanks. Most images are 1/4000, f5.6 or 6.3, ISO 2500. The last four are 1/2000, with f7.1 or 8 and ISO 2500 or 4000. Zoom varies between 300 and 500mm. I think "Swsitched tracked subjects" (AF Menu 1) was set to 1 and Servo AF (AF Menu 2) would have been set to Case A (Auto) - Case 2 might be better for this type of subject, I'll try some experiments next time.

Thanks. No problems with the AF despite the greys.

People seem to be having issues with a number of the R-series cameras, possibly from trying to retain DSLR habits. There seem to be a number of inter-related menu settings on the R cameras which didn't previously exist, at least on the DSLRs I used to have, which may cause confusion.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
