I've been playing with the FV mode on the R5 but am not sure there's any advantage over Manual mode. I must admit I haven't used it in the field, only messing about at home though. Perhaps there are circumstances where it could be useful but I haven't worked out where yet. My interest is wildlife photography and my normal mode is Manual but occasionally TV depending on what I'm doing. Has anyone found this setting useful yet, I'm interested to know.

I tended to use FV mode only on my R7, I just never got the handle on that ISO button. I used so much and liked it that I started using it on my R5 as well, which I tended to only use AV or M mode. I do find it to be faster than M mode as I always seem to move the dials initially in the wrong direction when trying to dial things in.

I've tried it, and well, I may be too set in my ways and just use Av, Tv, and M all the time. FV just seemed like it never was in the mode I wanted.

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
