My granddaughter asked me if I could come to her boyfriend's game and take some pictures. Nice sunny springtime day so I was able to shoot with a fairly high shutter speed. The challenge was finding a good spot to stand without obstructions to get an interesting angle on the players. They have netting all around the back of the batting area and the walls along the sides of the base lines are quite high.

Great job of a really tricky subject, hope you don't mind but a couple of the close up / crops are fairly noisy (sorry)

Yeah those 2 were pretty big crops. But these end up on the school kids phones mostly and maybe on social media they use. I also think on # 4 and the last shot I was getting some heat shimmer. It was pushing mid 80's F and sunny with no clouds. I ran these 2 through Topaz Photo AI for noise reduction and a bit of subject sharpening but you cans still see the shimmer in the brown turf area on the first one and the white part of the fence in the second. 2025-025 044 AHS JV baseball-2.jpg 2025-025 097 AHS JV baseball-2.jpg

Frustrating knowing they are probably never going to get off social media - the edits do look a lot better ;-)

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
