Everyone processes images differently in the editing stage, there is no right or wrong way. I thought it might be interesting to show how I processed this image of a roseate spoonbill in flight in Adobe Lightroom Classic.

    • Original out of camera image in Lightroom with no edits
    • Image after basic cropping and adjustments
    • Using remove tool in LR, the stick behind bird is now gone.
    • Background blurred with lens blur tool and a decrease in clarity and texture for background mask as well as the addition of a vignette as a last step

Cool. I've used the remove tool a few times last month for the odd stick that distracted. It's been a while since I used the lens blur tool but you gave me ideas. I use masking to increase/decrease clarity and texture (and NR) in both subject and background regularly. Amazing tools we have these days.
