I'm interested in shooting hydroplane racing in August in Seattle at Seafair. Have always wanted to do it, never gotten the opportunity.

Thinking this might be the year.

I'm shooting with an R7. Not sure if my kit lens will be enough, or if I should rent a 100-400 from Lensrentals.

Anyone shot hydro racing from the shoreline?

Thoughts?

I also have an EF 70-200 F4L (which I love), and a converter so I could use it with the R7.

Thank you in advance.

Mike.

I did Seafair few years ago. Hydroplane pics came more boring than I was hoping for.

10 years ago.....yes I said it was a long story! Canon sent me an EF 50mm f1.2 for a lens evaluation. On my 5D Mark III it was rather amazing. A...

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
