It’s been a while since I logged onto the site. I’ve been reading the David Busch’s book on the R7. But I can’t find an explanation for is the green line grid that occasionally shows up. Can anyone advise what it’s doing, its purpose, and how to utilize it?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome back Nick! :) Do you mean the 3x3 grid? or it could be 6x4 depending on how it's set in the menu. This displays on the shooting info display for both the viewfinder and LCD display. It's just a guide to help with framing and composing.

Thanks Timothy but these are small and change according to the object they are highlighted

These are the grid lines I was referring to. To further confuse the issue sometimes they are green.

These just look like AF focus points. You will normally only see them when you are focusing and the number you see will be determined by your focus area and the subject you are focusing on. There are lots showing in this picture due to the brick wall having lots of possible subjects.

I thought so as the shape and pattern change. Thank for confirming Tim.
