Greetings from Alaska. Nice to be part of the forums.
Thanks to my good friend I caught the photography bug again. I first caught the photography bug in 1974 while in the military. I had several cameras (Nikon, Canon, and Olympus), along with all sorts of lenses and accessories. I had to have several "aluminum" cases to carry my gear. Yes, the cool guys carried their gear in aluminum cases back to the old days. I even developed my own film back then. I had the pleasure of traveling all over the world taking photos. The 1980s rolled in and I started a family. As the family demanded more time, there was just not enough time for my hobby. At that time I just took point and shoot photos of the family. All the kids are grown up now with children of their own. However, I never really got back to the "old" hobby.
On a recent visit home to visit my Mom on Molokai, Hawaii, I stopped by to visit a very good friend and he showed me his Canon EOS R and the Milky Way photos he took. We even got up at 4am the next morning so he could show me how he took them. I was floored! I told him that he was a very bad influence on me and immediately went home to research photo gear! Well, I now have a Canon R6 Mark II, 5 lenses (including the beast - RF 100-500) and several accessories. I caught the bug once again!
