It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I'm a happy owner of an RP with the 24-105 kit lens, along
with an EF - EOS R adapter, so that I can use my existing EF (and even EF-S) glass.

In future, when $$ permits, I may upgrade the body, and sell my second body, a 6D.

Meanwhile, I'm plotting out my next lens purchase...

Let's hear from the RP owners!

Cheers

My first dip into the RF world was with the RP and the 24-105 F4 lens. After the R6 became available I bought the body and that is now my main camera. However when the 50mm F1.8 'Nifty Fifty' arrived I got one and it now lives permanently on the RP as the walk around street camera. Small and compact and ideal for when you just want something less conspicuous.

Sounds real familiar. Every you are doing I have done. I do not have the 24-105 lens. I and going to sell my 6D and try to find the lens. Do you like the lens?

If you're asking me about the 24-105 kit lens (F4 - 7.1 IS STM), then yes, I like it. The image quality is not up to "L" standards, but if you're on a tight budget like I am, it is quite decent. To paraphrase an old saying: "The best lens, is the one you have with you". :)

I just got mine a few weeks ago to replace my Canon Rebel T5. It was a great camera to learn on. I bought the RP as an upgrade- tight budget here too! I kept hearing a photographer I admire say, you do not need an expensive camera to be a good photographer. The RP has everything I need. I love it. I find myself taking fewer pictures because I don't have to keep checking my adjustments. I see it in the camera. And if I want to tweak and image, under or overexpose I can see what it will look like and go from there. I've gotten some lovely shots!

I have been using the RP for a while now and probably the best camera I have had. Been a Canon shooter for a while and have had a wide range of bodies. Current kit includes the following lens:

Canon 24mm-105mm F4 RF
Canon 50mm F1.8 RF
Canon 35mm F1.8 RF
Sigma 150mm-600mm EF (with adapter)

Next purchase maybe the Canon 15mm-35mm F2.8 RF, although I may go the the Sigma 14mm-24mm F2.8 EF

I will join your minority, I also am the proud and very happy owner of the Canon RP. I stepped up from the Canon 70D. I wanted to get into full frame and then when I started to research I saw the RF line that had just come out and it was full frame and mirrorless. I did a lot of research waffling between the R6 and the RP. I am not a professional photographer but I love taking pictures and decided that the RP had everything I needed, plus with the adapter I did not have worry about lens. I am also loving the lens it cam with the 24-105, also I don't vlog so I was not worried about the video. The RP has amazed me with each shot. I have not regretted my choice.

I've been using an EOS R since shortly after release, however I recently picked up an RP as a backup/b-camera. I'm loving it as a secondary camera, I toss it on a slider for timelapses while I shoot landscapes, and set it up as a second angle for talking head shots, and as an overhead camera as well. I also just used the focus bracketing feature for the first time today, wish my EOS R had that!

Even though I've only been using the RP a little while I set my buddy up with one a while back for Twitch streaming with the RF 35mm 1.8 and so far he's thrilled with it.

TBH the RP isnt that bad a photo camera. The sensor is smaller than the R and others, but overall you can do some really great pictures on it. I chose the RP and R because I honestly had no current need for the r5 or 6, I am not printing anything I shoot currently. for photography its a great entry right now. its pretty legit.

My first R camera was the RP , I used it with an EF 24-105 , I loved it it was a great camera in many ways , I took mine on a trip around Europe I did with my daughter on a motorbike , I was only taking snapshots of where we visited , but it was a very capable camera and a great small camera for travelling with .

I think the RP is very popular for its price point and there will be more RP users than other R series. I have this gut feeling that some users feel somehow the RP is not "worthy" as a serious camera. I do not share this sentiment at all.

From the Canon DSLR standpoint, I've been using somewhat more expensive models such as the 7D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 5DS-R before I ended up with the EOS RP. I still have the 7D Mark II and the 5DS-R. Originally, I bought the RP along with an RF 24-240mm, strictly for travel, wanting something light and small. But very quickly, the RP has become my all-time favorite camera. Now I use the RP about 90% of the time. I only use the 5DS-R when I need the extra resolution.

I find the RP to be superior and much more fun to use than most DSLRs...so much so that I feel no need to get the R or even the R6. I might break down and get the R5 for the resolution (then I can replace the 5DS-R) or the R3 for its "focusing ability by looking at where your eye looks" but I am in no hurry.

Last year I traveled to Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia with just the RP and the RF 24-240mm and had a blast. I used to lug around the 5DSR with a 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/4 which were much heavier. I found the RP more than adequate for my needs. Here is a picture I took in Singapore...

I have the RP and a 6D. I bought the adapter with the circular polarizer because I am shooting with EF lenses and don’t plan to buy more than two RF len$e$, if any. Initially, I had a bad case of G.A.S., but the high prices of the excellent RF lenses helped me supress and overcome this serious condition. I remembered to not let excellence get in the way of good enough. I have battery packs for both cameras.

Add me to the list of happy RP owners. Like many, I'm enjoying the RF 24-105 walk around, and carry the 1.8 50mm w/adapter.

I was looking for a reasonable (read: budget friendly) gateway back into full frame. This fits the bill.

I mostly shoot nature and landscape, but will be testing the RP's capabilities for sports soon. Son is in high school track.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it's up for the task.

I'm an RP user, but I've had mine converted to full spectrum use for infrared/UV and visible light. I love the camera and use it mostly with the RF 24-240 or with the adapter and my EF lenses. I use it mostly for landscape for the IR but it's a great all around camera when I use the hot mirror on it for visible light.

I'm an RP user with the 24-105 kit lens and 2 adapters. I broke down and bought the RF 600 mm F/11 lens for shooting birds mostly. I've just joined and will sort through some recent RF 600 photos and upload in a few days.

I bought the RP last year when I wanted to start doing some short video work. I only have the stock RF 24-105 f4.5-7.1 lens right now but I'm looking to get some better lenses soon. Trying to decide if I want to pick up an R6 or a more dedicated video camera like a BMPCC4k/6k. My other camera is an EOS 60D for which I only have a couple of lenses also.

Do you like the 600mm f/11? I rented it for a few days and didn't have a positive experience.

I’ve enjoyed the 600mm f/11. Primarily I’ve used it to shoot stationary birds, handheld in various lighting conditoons. I had to move around a bit more, since it’s not a zoom. But, for the price it’s a quality lense that takes sharp photos. I recommend it for a photographer on a budget.

I'm a happy owner of RP as well, but I use only EF lenses, mostly 24-105 L. Simply can't afford RF lenses just now. I've swapped from 7D mostly because of the weight but also because mirrorless system seems to slowly overtaking the market. RP is a great camera, I mostly do travel and landscape photography, and occasionally astro and macro. And here comes RP as a brilliant piece of tool with built in focus stacker and intervalometer, what can you ask more for?

How does the RP shoot with the adapter and EF-s lenses or do I need to be buying a RF lens? I have money into some EF-S lens. Now and trying to limit spending for now?

I hadn't shot much of anything since the 80s on film then decided I wanted to get back into photography this year with a granddaughter on the way. Grabbed a T2i off of ebay but very quickly started to feel the need for full frame. So for now I mostly use my RP with a 50mm 2.5 macro and the EF adapter and lifesize adapter to copy my old film photos, slides and negatives I shot back in the 70s.
