Daytime pics of a fractional Moon are tough! First you gotta find the damn thing (helps to have good software). Focusing is usually a guessing game (at best). Then exposure is a challenge.

Back in 2010 (or so) I captured some daytime pics of a lunar occultation of Jupiter. The pics turned out pretty good (given the software limitations back then). I'll see if I can dig them up.

In 2012 I captured the Transit of Venus by placing my cellphone up to the lens of my telescope. Always fun getting those actual rare celestial events and not the not so rare click bait events. It was a very cloudy day and I didn't think the clouds would clear enough to even see the sun.

It was with great trepidation that I opened this.

I thought it was going to involve a tiny, tiny backside.

I haven't claimed ownership of a tiny tush since I was 3....

... And don't make me break out my baby pictures.
