  1. Yes
I just picked up an RF2x extender from B&H, and will be using it with my R7 and the RF 100-400mm lens. But I've never shot anything at 800mm, and the crop sensor R7 equates to 1280mm! I'm hoping folks here can give me some tips for wildlife: exposure settings, tripod vs monopod, and whatever else you might want to share.

In my opinion , just my opinion its better to take 1.4x converter because 2x converter with that lens at 400mm will be F16 so need to have a good amount of light to not to crank ISO high. I tried 2x on my 100-500 L and to be honest it was a crap . Images were soft and shallow DoF. So i returned 2x and take 1.4x and im really happy with most of the results.

I second this. More reach sometimes does not mean better.
