I've collected a few tripod heads over the last couple years, and decided to put a quick release receiver on the tripod and a plate on each head. I also got a 65mm plate with a Quick Disconnect port and strap-mounting slot for the heavy EF 70-200mm lens. I went with the Leofoto brand for price and compatibility (links at bottom) but other vendors have similar products.

Reliable bend, easy to untie after being heavily loaded but not, however, while still under load. The Zeppelin Bend employs interlocking overhand knots.
