CC Welcome
  1. Yes
I've collected a few tripod heads over the last couple years, and decided to put a quick release receiver on the tripod and a plate on each head. I also got a 65mm plate with a Quick Disconnect port and strap-mounting slot for the heavy EF 70-200mm lens. I went with the Leofoto brand for price and compatibility (links at bottom) but other vendors have similar products.
  • Robus RCC-3060 tripod
  • Robus ball head (comes with tripod, no separate part number)
  • Oben GH3W-15 geared head
  • K&F Concept CNC gimbal head
Parts for Quick Disconnect, Lens Safety Strap, and Gear Pouch
  • LHC-60 60mm Arca-Swiss Clamp (tripod)
  • P-LH47 Tripod Head Quick Release Plate (head)
  • NP-65 QD Quick Release Plate (lens foot)
  • 1/4" QD Screw Mount (tripod)
  • QD Sling Swivel Mount (lens & tripod)
  • Paracord (tied with Zeppelin Bend knot)
  • Self-Fusing Silicone Rubber Tape
  • Maxpedition Cocoon Gear Pouch
Each head has a P-LH47 plate attached, but the photos focus on the QD lens plate and the Oben geared head. Unfortunately, the GH3W-15 head does not have a full-length clamp, so I'm trying to source a longer QD plate for the lens (probably a Kirk KLP-360 or KLP-450).

...Or you could have just purchased a bunch of new tripods - one for each head. The danger with this approach is that if you are married, you may be sleeping on the sofa for quite a while.

;)

LOL, nice write-up!
