So...apparently the RF100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USM needs a lens collar if mounted on a tripod, instead of using an L-Bracket. That should have been included. (+$199 US).

Now I have to wait an extra 3 days from when the lens arrives... I'll be going out of my mind!

I hate when that happens.

Sold my last EF lenses - 16-35 f4L IS and 50mm1.8 as well as EF-RF adapter. So now just a couple of RFs to keep me happy. 24-105 STM and 100-400 USM. My wife also has 24-240 and 100-500 which I can use if needed. At least now I don't need to work out what to take. Nice and lightweight, more compact and enough to cover my needs.

I'm as giddy as a school girl!
I lucked out big time today! Saw an ad just moments after it had been posted for a Canon RF 100-500 that was local to me! The guy was only asking $1800. I connected with him immediately and I went and looked at the lens and tried it on my R5 and it was brilliant! Not a scratch on it anywhere (well, the foot has a very minor scuff on it) and he has kept a UV filter on the front since new. He was also selling the RF 1.4 extender for $200, so of course I snagged that too! I can't wait to get it out and try it!

Congratulations, and it looks like you scored a great deal. It's a great lens and I'm sure that you'll love it.

Thanks! I'd been on the fence about whether to Keep my Sigma 150-600 and just get the RF 100-400, or sell the Sigma to get the RF 100-500. But when I saw this deal ($1800 for the lens (with a UV filter), especially with the extender for just another $200, I immediately DM'd the seller (who was only about 30 miles away) and said I'd wanted it. I drove to my bank and got the cash, then met him later that night at a public location. The only very minor issue is there is a little bit of paint scrapper of the foot, but the lens itself is flawless as is the extender. This pair new, with tax, would have set me back $3646 at any of main online stores. They guy said he bought it thinking he would do a lot of wildlife photography, but ended up never doing any, so decided to sell it. Of course he also said he has the Nirvana of Canon lenses, the 28-70 f/2, which he said he'll never sell.

The R50 is a fine entry level/beginner/casual stills camera. It is not a pro level camera, but would be fine for hiking, street, family photos...
