So...apparently the RF100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USM needs a lens collar if mounted on a tripod, instead of using an L-Bracket. That should have been included. (+$199 US).

Now I have to wait an extra 3 days from when the lens arrives... I'll be going out of my mind!

I hate when that happens.

Sold my last EF lenses - 16-35 f4L IS and 50mm1.8 as well as EF-RF adapter. So now just a couple of RFs to keep me happy. 24-105 STM and 100-400 USM. My wife also has 24-240 and 100-500 which I can use if needed. At least now I don't need to work out what to take. Nice and lightweight, more compact and enough to cover my needs.

I'm as giddy as a school girl!
I lucked out big time today! Saw an ad just moments after it had been posted for a Canon RF 100-500 that was local to me! The guy was only asking $1800. I connected with him immediately and I went and looked at the lens and tried it on my R5 and it was brilliant! Not a scratch on it anywhere (well, the foot has a very minor scuff on it) and he has kept a UV filter on the front since new. He was also selling the RF 1.4 extender for $200, so of course I snagged that too! I can't wait to get it out and try it!

Congratulations, and it looks like you scored a great deal. It's a great lens and I'm sure that you'll love it.

Thanks! I'd been on the fence about whether to Keep my Sigma 150-600 and just get the RF 100-400, or sell the Sigma to get the RF 100-500. But when I saw this deal ($1800 for the lens (with a UV filter), especially with the extender for just another $200, I immediately DM'd the seller (who was only about 30 miles away) and said I'd wanted it. I drove to my bank and got the cash, then met him later that night at a public location. The only very minor issue is there is a little bit of paint scrapper of the foot, but the lens itself is flawless as is the extender. This pair new, with tax, would have set me back $3646 at any of main online stores. They guy said he bought it thinking he would do a lot of wildlife photography, but ended up never doing any, so decided to sell it. Of course he also said he has the Nirvana of Canon lenses, the 28-70 f/2, which he said he'll never sell.

Just days after I snagged an RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens and a 1.4x extender, I just purchased another little gem I've been wanting for some time. I just bought a Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Lens refurbished from the Canon store. I've heard so many good things about this inexpensive lens that I just had to have it.

Not Canon (don't hate me), but I bought a Fuji GF32-64mm lens from B&H for my GFX100II. Fuji glass can get really pricy, and it was $500 off, so I'm a happy camper.

Glad to hear! I’ve been pining for a Fujifilm camera. I’d love to get either the X100VI or possibly the X-E5. Very similar cameras except the E5 has interchangeable lenses,

Do it! Get the E5!! You know you want to!!!

(So many toys, so little time... Besides, doesn't everyone have three mortgages??!?)

🤣

THXGEEK,
You are enabling again.
I will have to admit that I have been lusting after the X100IV, though. Can’t get it past the Chief Financial Officer.

Just bought an OM EE-1 dot sight

I thought it was going to be a bit of a gimmick, but I'm hoping that it will help with my sea sickness shooting rafting puffins off a boat by not having to use the EVF. I'll find out next week if it does.

The only thing rare than the X100VI are hen’s teeth. However, the X – E5 seems to be much more readily available. They are essentially the same Camera with only some very modest differences the biggest being the XE5 allows for interchangeable lenses. On the other hand, the X100VI has a leaf shutter while the XE5 has a regular shutter. Other than that, they are essentially the same camera with the same sensor in the same film, simulations, etc..
