Sunrise this morning 3/17/26. Not green for St. Patrick's Day but I thought it was special.

Sunday: small boy, bigger splash.

Probably the last time he graces our pool this end of summer. Autumn is upon us, and his lips were turning blue towards the end. ;-)

How to photograph a kookaburra…

"Stay… and don't touch!" I ordered as I left my garden lounger and went inside to fix yet another cuppa.

They stayed and guarded the gear, but also set up the next shot for me. Cute!

Thanks for joining us for afternoon tea.

Hi David,

Terrific! Looks like the locals have set up a sideline with your tech...

A couple more pics from our Western Caribbean cruise last month. CC is always welcome.View attachment 44257View attachment 44259
Hi Andy,

Two very different shots - both are fascinating and well controlled given the competing lighting demands and 'run and gun' nature of travel photography.

This thread continues to attract enthralling sights from all around the world, which are very welcome and rewarding. Thank you for sharing these... 🙂

Got some rain last week. Swollen rivers and flooded fields.

Hi Ken,

That's quite a sight (photographically fascinating and - we're guessing - something of a thrill for the driver of the wagon). We trust it all ended well.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

A hectic weekend involving four historic properties - two bite-sized, one light lunch and one full-on meal (to use a food analogy) - plus a visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which together yielded 7,000+ raw files (good luck Phil). With fate on our side you may even see some of these this year...

Not so fortunate are images from The Alnwick Garden, Northumberland, England, which fell victim to chaos unlimited (real life stuff), but nevertheless - at long last - here you go...

(Shot raw and processed with: DxO PL Elite and Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels. Compilations feature images by Karen - R7 and Phil - R5 II).

1. The Alnwick Garden - a brief mid-journey stop-off on our autumn Frank-Fest - was created by The Duchess of Northumberland in 2001. Happily, the weather forecasts all agreed ‘it will be a fine day - with no chance of rain’, so guess what happened when we were as far away from any cover as you could get…

4. The Garden holds the largest collection of European plants in the UK and the largest Japanese Cherry Orchard in the World.
