It appears Adobe has purchased Topaz

Interesting how the link states "acquires", while the first sentence of the story states "...it is acquiring....".

It is either "completed" (acquires) or "currently in the process of" (it is acquiring)... it can't be both.

Looks like someone got a "C" in high school English class.

The news about this may only a few hours old but they like to make the headlines grab the readers eye. There seems to be a lot more of grade C publishing out there these days.

My concern is that Adobe Denoise is already better then Topaz. Being a subscriber to Adobe I hope this doesn't impede improvements and development of the Adobe core products and tools.

I had that concern when they partnered with Topaz last year. Adobe's Denoise AI is already very good but I like anyone else would welcome any improvements. They never had a Sharpen AI module. They were already into Nano Banana, Topaz Bloom and other partnered tools. We shall see where this all goes. The cancel plan button has always been 10 seconds away and I'd have no issues using it. I'm hoping that does not get there.

Where does it say shut down or are you just speculating?
I work for Microsoft, they love to do this with smaller players so this would be just my guess. I'd almost be more surprised if they don't do it. They'll call it "we ingest/integrate the features to Adobe products".

Yeah I worked in print media for about 40 years and 3 mergers. Nothing will change they said but over time things do.

Boooooo!!! Hissssssss!!!

Topaz Photo has one of the best 'Remove Object' capabilities I've seen (ideal for removing that branch or leaf that your critter is hiding behind)...

And it is unsurpassed in restoring old, fuzzy photos to a clear, sharp, print-worthy state. I've done many of these and presented family members with a framed gift of an old memory.

I hope Topaz Photo continues as a separate product from Adobe or I shall be pissed.

I've never used Photo AI past version 1 so I'm not familiar with the latest versions. You probably don't use Adobe apps but their version of Generative Remove which comes with the plan (no extra credits required) is exceptional for the same things you mentioned. Annoying twigs in front of critters gone in seconds. Multiple people including their shadows gone instantly. It surprised me.

I'm not trying to convince you. This is for all the members reading these forums.
