I am a new member, I just bought a R5, I was using an eos-1d mark ii n and last week it stopped working (only used for 15 years) I am a novice photographer. I work for Marriott and used the camera for taking pictures of my son playing sports. (baseball and soccer) I am now retired and am taking High school baseball photos. I have lots of question about the R5 and what setting to use to take shoots, look forward to meeting everyone!!

Welcome Peter and thank you for joining up here and introducing yourself. If you have any questions about the forum please don't hesitate to ask. I don't shoot a great deal of sports myself so I'm probably not the best person to ask for settings advice here. For bird photographers I've found the following video to be very helpful, I'm sure many of the settings discussed will apply to sports as well.

Believe this would be good for R6 and R6 Mkii as well

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
