I run into an issue with Luminar AI (L AI). Specifically trying to edit CR3 files and opening HIF (HEIF HEIC) files. The issue with the CR3 files is that they are dark really dark like underexposed by several stops dark. When I open them with DPP they come out as expected. I can convert them, then they are okay in L AI. With JIF they are suppose to be able to be opened (I am on a MAC running Catalina and HEIC files is an Apple thing).
I emailed Skylum support last night (april 14, @ 8 pm eastern daylight time) and this is the response I received a reply this morning @ 7:30 a.m EDT:
Hi Norman,
Thanks for reaching us about this.
We have been able to reproduce the issue with Canon R5 CR3 files on our end and created a task to fix it.
The issue should be sorted out in one of the following updates.
As for Canon R5 HEIF files, could you please send us several files so we can test them on our end?
While I am not happy that they say a fix"will be sorted out in one of the following updates" ( a firm date would be better) they are still very responsive. I will be sending them som HIF files for the other issue.
Skylum has always been very responsive to issues/emails. I hope (as an IT worker I disllike using the word hope) they fix it very soon.
