I haven't tried this very often, but just started looking at a batch of our (many) zoo raws and tried 'one clicking' this Amur Leopard shot taken by Karen...

Wow at first glance that's pretty solid. I've tried this feature, but only for power lines in street photos, and I usually find it works pretty seamlessly. This is a much more intense trial than anything I've done though.

Without the original as a reference you'd never know what you removed. The modified photo looks great.

The banding under the removed wire stands out, except on the areas of non-solid colors.

I would say that worked out really well - yes if you really pixel peep you will notice it BUT if you had just put the after shot up I doubt many would even notice. Nice job ;-)

Thank you all for the kind feedback - thing is, this was teetering on the verge of being a reject and I thought ā€˜what could the PS healing tools do?’. I was genuinely surprised by the ā€˜one button’ result. I think I’ll end up doing a full edit - this only had a light touch as I’m still busy weeding/ selecting the finalists from this shoot. I may try some frequency separation to mitigate the underlying discolouration, plus other normal healing brush work to tidy things up.

I’ve had other examples where the wire removal tool was completely ineffective, but this shot has made me think afresh.

(It made Karen smile when I showed her the before/ after - so that’s a result… :) ).

I agree. Unless you point it out most people would not notice it. Came out pretty good.

Thanks for sharing certainly improved the shot a lot.
