Somewhere I read an article - I believe it was by him - where he parsed out what the mysterious “step” parameter in the focus bracketing menu is. I believe it roughly equated to 1/8 the depth of field…but I don’t remember exactly and can’t find it again.

I should use his focus stack calculator more than I do, since I sometimes miss slices or don’t take enough…but I mostly rely on the SWAG method.
