Good eye. That is called "Twin Rocks Arch" near Rockaway Beach, Oregon at a distance of 6.4 miles away. Here is a photo of it from last January.
Perhaps my eye was drawn to it, knowing that there's interesting seastacks and rock arches around the UK's coastline.

Near Ione, California, on a small country road. Canon FD 55mm f/1.2.

Near sunset, I found some furniture on the roadside. Edited in DxO Photolab. Not sure if I like this result or not...

My first photo with my new, to me, 50 years old FD 800mm f/5.6 S.S.C lens. Using the 45 MP sensor it exposes the color fringe that has to be corrected using the eye-drop method (one-click Auto makes it worse). There is an out of focus branch swaying on the left...not a lens problem. Subject is about 350 feet (~106m) away.

Feed me… Now! (I didn't.)

If you ever give into the temptation to proffer some snacks to a kookaburra, do remember to count your fingers afterwards.

Hi Steven,

Two eye-catching images, both well seen - each having their own (very different) attractions.

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi David,

A good point, well made...

(And a wonderful capture!).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Oxalis, or Shamrock, is an easy-to-maintain houseplant that blooms almost continuously. I applied a slight soft-focus effect in post-processing.

Hi Cemal,

A splendid capture which showcases nature's beauty.

(Glorious colours - and the presentation is perfect).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Service Announcement: Don’t Panic! Please note we are now away until early-August (on our summer Frank-Fest) so we won’t be able to provide any further feedback for this month. As usual, the absence of a reaction, or comment, from us is not a sign of any disfavour! 🙂

Consequently, our final images for this month are from a recent (reprise) visit to Nostell, Yorkshire, England. These images are all by Phil as Karen was working in nearby-ish Wakefield. (This visit followed on from Temple Newsam and, being later in the day, 'people-free' shots were a fun challenge).

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL E/ ViewPoint/ Nik, Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels and Topaz Labs Studio).

You can find out more about Nostell by clicking Here. (Previously posted images from Nostell can be found Here).

1. Nostell is built on the site of a Roman settlement. It was an important medieval priory but closed in 1540 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

2. In the 18th century, the Winn family transformed Nostell, commissioning leading architects and designers to create a house befitting their ambitions.

3. Nostell is celebrated for its Palladian architecture, interiors by James Paine and Robert Adam, and its collection of furniture by Thomas Chippendale.

4. While the Winns remained wealthy by most standards, Nostell was a very expensive house to maintain and there were significant social and economic changes after the Second World War, including increased taxation on the transfer of inherited wealth.

5. In 1951, Nostell’s house and garden opened to the public. Three years later, the house was transferred to the National Trust. In the 2010’s the stables, parkland, gardens and much of the house’s contents also passed to the National Trust.

6. Nostell is now home to a huge collection, including 6 of the National Trust’s ’125 Treasures’.
