The price you pay for keeping fps down to prevent mass culling. Beak in water would have been nice

I took my eyes off it for a second and it disappeared after this last one.

My wife read there were few owls at this park so I went hunting. Nice trail but no luck.

There was too much commotion in the central area. Some bike event with hundreds of people. I'll try next week for hopefully an October post.

We're back! (Still drying kit out from a soggy - but fun - Frank-Fest and now buried by a whole bunch of 'real life stuff').

For our final post for this month, another 'Postcard from America'. This time from an early morning flying visit to Gloucester, Massachusetts, United States.

(Shot raw and processed using: DxO PL Elite/ Nik Collection and Adobe LrC/ PS with Tony Kuyper Panels. Karen used our Sony RX10 IV on this trip - so you’re stuck with Phil’s images. Well, officially - some insets may occasionally veer a little off-piste. Don't tell Tim...).

1. Gloucester, a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, sits on Cape Ann and is known as America’s oldest seaport, having a rich maritime history.

2. Karen ‘photobomber’ Moore admiring the Blynman Bridge (built in 1907) - named in honour of Richard Blynman (First Minister and leading citizen of Gloucester), who in 1643 dug this canal uniting river and bay.

3. Gloucester Fisherman’s Memorial (aka ‘Man at the Wheel’) was erected in 1925 and sits on South Stacy Boulevard looking across the harbour. The adjacent memorial lists the names of some of the many thousands of local fishermen lost sea. A sobering reminder of the perils faced by these courageous workers.

4. Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Memorial also sits on South Stacy Boulevard. (Dedicated by the Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Association in 2001).

5. Stage Fort Park (top and centre) features Revolutionary-era canons which guard the harbour. This facility provided coastal defence against hostile forces during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. We also payed our respects at the WWII and Vietnam memorials on South Stacy Boulevard.

6. One last hurrah (ow, my back), before we return to Danvers - we have a wedding to attend! (Congratulations to Alexander and Alysha Moore... :)).

*** R System Images - September *** Thread Closed…

Another terrific collection of inspirational R System images this month - posted from people all around the world and viewed by people all around the world - we’ve really enjoyed seeing them (though we can’t comment on each and every image due to ‘life stuff’). A HUGE ‘thank you’ to all of the contributors and commentators - your talents and time are appreciated!! :)

You can continue to post any comments here, but the October thread is now open for all new images (including any additional September material).
