No sky replacement here. I never do that. Just some colour filter and contrast adjustment.

A few B&W 'leading lines'...

Phil

1. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway at Ravenglass, Cumbria. This 15 inch gauge heritage railway runs 7-miles from Ravenglass to Dalegarth Station in the valley of Eskdale.

2. The library at Stowe School, Stowe, Buckingham. This public School opened on 11 May 1923 and its former pupils include a certain Richard Branson.

3. Beeston Castle is a former Royal castle in Beeston, Cheshire. Perched on a rocky crag 350 feet above the Cheshire Plain, it was built in the 1220's by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, on his return from the Crusades.

4. Caen Hill Locks are a flight of 29 locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal, Wiltshire (16 of which can be seen here).

A couple of bridges from our recent visit to the Elan Vally in the Cambrian Mountains of mid-Wales. The grim skies were useful for adding a little drama (though less so for remaining dry...

).

1. This bridge is the 3rd to be sited here - the original one being used to access the workforce accommodation and compound during the construction of the Elan Valley dams. (It has been condemned as unsafe and is no longer in use).

2. This 'interestingly bouncy and swingy' bridge is provided to allow walkers - and in our case cyclists - to cross the Afon Elan (Elan River) to the sounds of increasingly nervous giggling...

The Climber and the Dog

I primarily hike around with my R5, L-bracket with no strap and never had an issue. However after a few days hiking 6-10 hours through scree with the 100-500mm, I am seriously thinking of getting a Camera Clip for my backpack.
