Your Photo of the Week

I see a lot of mutations like that on the birds at our feeder. Someone said it could be our bad hygiene at the feeders. Such a shame.
From what I've read it increases during the winter when many chaffinches migrate from Europe. It can pass from bird to bird via surfaces so cleaning garden feeders is recommended. Or course many birds will be feeding from multiple gardens and feeders so it's a difficult one to control unfortunately.

Week 5
Another waterfall, this one in Vermont. I think it's all frozen now, 5 days later.

Week 36 of 52. The guy that owned the tractor passed a few months ago. He had a immaculate garden of about 4 acres. That was his favourite tractor and has been placed on the horizon of the garden when seen from the house. The tractor is defo a monument, but might be his headstone.

Week 26. Not the nicest of weather right now but this little long-tailed tit can't hide inside and wait for the sun to come out. Dropping the shutter down to 1/60 made it a little more challenging to get a nice sharp shot but the stabilisation of the R5 and 100-500 really helps, especially as this was shot hand-held. At these shutter speeds you also get the nice rain trails.

Week 6, something other than a waterfall... (And first "real world" test of the 100-500, the Snowy's weren't cooperative but the Christmas tree was)

This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
