We just had a huge update in June with game changing masking accuracy. Now they added feathering to the subject option

Too bad Generative Expand didn't come to LrC - yet. I wonder if it ever will because of the catalogue system. That is a cloud edit which only used 1 credit last time I tried it. I don't use that option very much anyway so it's no biggy. As long as I'm still grandfathered into the 20GB Photo Plan I'll still have access to PS. I'm up for renewal Sept 1and it's for the same plan, etc.

Just updated LR for my iPad. Played with the denoise a couple of times. So far so good. Takes about 30-45 seconds to get the raw file from the cloud, but that’s a function of my not-brand-new iPad Air 5th gen. I need to find one of my grainy raw files and play with it some more. I’m sure I have quite a few of those.

Just timed it. I was wrong above, I was guessing. It took about 20sec to retrieve the full resolution file from the cloud, and about 1min 30sec to prepare the file for denoising. This is on an iPad with the M1 chip, and 8GB ram. Your mileage may vary.

Was your actual file in the cloud or was it a Smart Preview? I don't use Lr so all my files are local. No credits are used for anything LrC offers which includes Denoise AI and all the Generative Remove tools. Did you check your credits to see if any were used?

What I think happens (and wiser heads please check me on this), is that a smart preview lives on my iPad, and the denoise routine goes to the cloud and gets the full resolution file. It then prepares the full resolution file for adjustments. As you know, LR Mobile, unlike LRC, does not store photos on the hard drive. That’s a good question about credits being used. As far as I can tell, it did not, because no warnings popped up. I think you are correct that Denoise AI and Generative Remove don’t burn credits. I will check to make sure, and if it did, I’ll let you know. Hope that answers your question.

Yes I'm aware the Lr Mobile store files locally. Definitely any LrC AI tools don't burn credits. No hurries. If you find sometime let us know
