Nice capture, do you usually use the 100 to 500 for macro?
Thanks. Often, yes, I do use the 100 to 500 (often with the 1.4 extender on) for macro but only because I set out to shoot birds primarily. The macro shots are just something I'll take when something interesting presents itself or there are a lack of birds that day. The lens works out well for that.

Yep, that's what I do too. The RF 100-500 is such a versatile lens, it is useful for small subjects.

It looks great! What a weird-looking beetle. Nice find.
Thanks. This one just showed up on our front doorstep. You can find them in trees eating sap and some can actually fetch a hefty sum, depending on the size. I probably should have measured it to see if it was worth anything. I just put it back in a tree nearby.
