I'm using a RF 24 - 240 lens on my R5. The front edge of the lens sits on the the surface when the camera is put down. Over a period of time, when using big heavy lenses, it cannot be helped but to lift the camera by its grip, try as hard as you like the front of the lens will be the last part to leave the surface. As you lift the lens end will drag on the surface, eventually the colour will abrade.
With a UV filter it will give some protection, using a lens hood gives more but that can get in the way or fall off if you put your camera down to hard.
The best option is to use a soft collapsible rubber lens hood. A few £'s will make your £1000s last longer
