Well, the final sun will set on August today.

Stepped out on to the back patio and grabbed this last night. Makes me want to get the RF 800 f/11 to play with. But not bad for a tight crop from a 24 megapixel sensor.

Hi Stephen,

What a wonderful sight! Thank you for sharing it... :)

(As usual with any notable celestial event such as the 'super moon', we've only been able to observe 100% cloud cover here in central England... ).

Where did the month go? I guess I need to get a couple of shots in at least. I went for a short walk along our local river this morning whilst I was waiting for my car to have some tyres changed. There was not a lot about and I apparently just missed an otter and cormorant, but I managed to snap this mallard and little egret.

I took this photograph in the historic village of Pawtuxet looking down from the bridge overlooking the scenery. My gear is simple, to the point of possibly not being suitable for this kind of photography, but I gave it a try. R7 with 18-150 mm kit lens.

Hi Tim,

Pleased you could join us before the end... :p

Really like how you captured the mallard - terrific effect with the water. (Good control with the egret too - which can be a nightmare exposure-wise).

Hi Cemal,

The best camera etc... It's always worth a punt - you never know otherwise - and on this occasion the reward is a fine capture of a beautiful creature.

Thank you for sharing... :)

Thanks P&K. I'll have to try and get an earlier shot in this month :) Just been shooting a bit more with my Sony gear lately, mostly at our local motocross track. I tried to get as low as possible with the mallard without actually getting into the water :) Egret's are a bit of a pain to expose for but the R5 does a great job at getting the balance right normally.
