Just got a new R6 and LOVE it. Shot these at my local zoo for World Lion Day on 8/10.

Hi Steve,

Absolutely magnificent. What a fine way to showcase your new tech. :)

Hi David,

A fantastic capture - and good grief (in equal measure!)... :)

Hi David,

That looks like the weather we typically get on our holidays... :)

(We hope everyone was able to stay safe and well).

Thanks...we were fine. Coinciding with the busiest travel period in Japan, it created a bit of chaos for travelers, though. Luckily, we stayed put.

Still finding my way with the R7. These images were taken recently. Cheers!
Hi Barry,

Wonderful shots - looks to us like you're already getting up to speed... :)

As we wait to set off on our next (short) adventure in 'Frank' (our camper van) later today - the storm clouds are already gathering at our destination  - a couple of shots from yesterday morning here in Hartshill, Warwickshire, England.

(Shot raw and processed using: Adobe Lightroom Classic/ Photoshop with TK-9 Panels, DxO Nik Collection and Topaz Labs Studio 2).

Found this little Japanese house bat on our doorstep. I used focus bracketing (30 shots; focus increment set to 1) to capture the shot. The positioning was awkward and I didn't want to disturb it, so I hung the camera upside down on my tripod to get it into position

. Used DxO to rotate and crop the image.

I think the recent typhoon might have been a factor in this bat's poor condition. I had seen many getting blown about quite violently in the strong wind the evening before the typhoon hit. I checked this morning and, unfortunately, it died a few meters away. Might take another photo soon.

Just got off the phone with my ISP. They run a calendar photo contest every year. For 2023 I got the month of January. For 2024 I got the notice yesterday that the deadline was last week. A little 'squeaky wheel gets the grease' and now the deadline is end of month. :)
I sent in these 4. We'll see what happens -

Haven't been out and about with camera much this month ( Aug = Feb up North), but this fellow did spend a long time watching me prune roses...

As seen at New England Dragway today.
These were CARS, they now build cars! We are planning to go to Cruise Nights this Tuesday in Warwick. We visited that several times and found it enjoyable. That one is just displaying the cars. I have a few posts on my site about those visits.
