We hope you enjoy creating memorable images this month!

Have fun - but stay safe and well…

Any R System images (stills or movies) can be posted. If you would like to say something about the subject, settings, or processing, that will be very welcome.

Remember, you don't have to only post things you took this month - sometimes people don't get around to processing/ editing images straight away. (Think of it more as an ‘images I’d like to post here this month’ thing). Images taken with non-R System lenses are also very welcome as this adds to the interest.

Images posted on this thread will also be available to view in the dedicated Monthly Images Gallery, which can be found Here.

Commenting on people’s posts is encouraged, as it keeps everyone interested and coming back. (Please aim to be considerate, thoughtful and constructive).

We aim to provide feedback - but note we are away for part of each month and busy with ‘life stuff’. The lack of a comment from us is not a sign of disfavour!

Finally, please post in accordance with the RF Shooters Community Guidelines.

Thank you!

Awesome shots as usual.

Hi Only RF,

Cheers - much appreciated! :)

This was our first visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (resulting from a recommendation we'd received from another photographer we chatted to at Chester Zoo) - and we were so impressed we became Members there - for a year at least. We've already had a return visit. (I'm buried in the raw files at present).

I got these yesterday but didn't process until today so I guess they count. Been at this spot many times and I have never seen this before.

Hi Only RF,

These definitely qualify (if we limited things to the actual month in question, we'd never post anything as we're always w-a-y behind reality).

Very striking images, with the subjects creating a mesmeric mass of fish bits and ripples. (We also think they were rather interested in your tech!).

A nice 'catch' - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

Turtles sunning themselves with the warmer spring weather we have had. View attachment 35343
Hi Chris,

A remarkable image (we had to double take to check this wasn't multiple shots of the same turtle overlapped). What a truly wonderful sight to behold.

(Love those reflections too!).

Well seen and beautifully captured - thank you for sharing... 🙂

A trip in nice weather to the bridge over the dam on Jawa Pioneer machines (the cheapest motorcycle developed after WWII for the masses for little money).

Hi Pavel,

That looks like a fun way to pass the time - and the right weather for it too!

In terms of the photography, a detailed and colourful shot with plenty to interest the viewer. (We could even envisage this shot with a 2.5 x 1 wide crop).

Thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Marc,

A fascinating capture of striking and beautiful creatures (we're guessing you were 'quite pleased' to be able to shoot from a safe distance... ).

The surrounding environment looks particularly chilly - given this and the focal length you did very well to keep a steady hand.

Well seen and caught - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

Just back from a long weekend with friends in the Marlborough Sounds (top of the South Island). The weather cooperated...

The port of Picton (ferries to Wellington a speciality), from a friend's house in Double Cove. One of the smaller cruise ships is moored for the day.

Many houses in the Sounds are accessible only from the water, so they have boathouses/boatsheds. From Double Cove to Picton is only 15-20 minutes in a speedboat, half an hour in our friend's lovingly reconstructed classic launch.

Of course, the weather didn't last. We drove home through drenching rain, and this was what greeted us in the morning.

Summer is fading into autumn... You can see the nets on the vineyards, saving the fruit from marauding starlings (and other feathered "friends").

Going through some motorsport files from last year, decided to have a go at this one in lightroom.

Hi Mike,

An interesting creative treatment which, combined with the action-packed nature of the subject, makes for an eye-catching final composition.

Well done - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

Hi Gareth,

A series of striking landscape images featuring a range of glorious vistas, each presenting a different, but equally enthralling scene to the viewer.

Any of the first three look like a fine place to soak up some rays and chill out with a cooling beverage, but the final one reminds us of home...

(Having said that, we had a cracking sun rise today!).

Well done all round - and thank you for sharing... 🙂

‘Out of Office’ - We’re away for a few days on a Frank-Fest and will be unable to provide feedback until after we return. Have lots of fun in our absence! :)

In the meantime, a few more images from our recent visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.

A new RF 24-105 F4L arrived a couple of days ago. Back in the EF days, I only shot with a tripod and cabled release. All shots were hand held at the Providence Steel and Iron Company Complex located in a historic industrial complex area of the city.

Not sure if I like B&W better for this one
I like both, but I think I prefer the colour ones - it's the way the different colours illuminate various features. Maybe try limiting the range to duo or tri tones?
