#Week2

So this image was taken this week. It is a stack of 13 images in DSS then tweaked in Darktable, just to test the camera in low light. All taken at different exposures. Subject is Ursa Major.

24-105 f4/7.1
R6 @35mm, f4, 5 second, ISO from 640-8000

Week 1. Sounds fun. I'm a newby at astrophotoghy with the R5. This was a composite (in camera) shot of the Milky Way last night. I did a little post processing to get rid of some tail lights and city lights on the right. Taken with R5, 14mm Samyang Lens. Setting: ISO 51,200 yikes!), f stop 2.8, 4 seconds --- three stacked photos. No equatorial mount used.

Fantastic image. I need to get myself a faster aperture, wide angle lense and a better location!

Week 15 - This bird, Common Yellowthroat, was so challenging to shoot because he hid out in trees, bushes, or was hidden on the ground in vegetation 98% of the time. On rare occasions he came into the open. I am posting one shot of him in the open on Instaview. I am posting this one here because this is actually one of the times he was more visable. I had a lot of practice finding a bird in the viewfinder under challenging circumstances.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
