Your Photo of the Week

Week 8
After a big snowstorm (they called it a blizzard 22 inches so I suppose it could have been) we had some warmer temps which lead to some lovely fog, thankfully still around on my day off.

Did a quick still life today for a local photography competition. The theme is doors. As it happens I’m currently making a couple for a project. Bucket of sawdust and a hammer, job done lol

Week 9.
A little unexpected snow,, threw on the snow pants, coat and hat and sat in the snow and watched the junco's and other little birds enjoy themselves at the feeders.

Week 40 - This Snowy Owl was too shy to stop for a picture. She flew parallel to gravel road we were driving on and I shot pictures while my husband drove. It was pretty tricky to keep her in the frame because it was bumpy so my camera was constantly moving up and down. Great workout for eye tracking.

Gorgeous image! I love the wing position, showing the flight feathers on the far side and the eye peaking out at you on the near. Beautiful detail!

Week 10 same snow and another dark-eyed junco, another day processing

Week 12
Northern Flicker wondering why there is a Robin trying to eat at my suet feeder (I wonder that as well, although it was humorous watching it)

Week 27. I'm well behind with this challenge. Life hasn't allowed me to shoot as much as I'd like lately. Thanks to all of you who are managing to keep it up! :) I posted a picture of this little chaffinch back in November, it's nice to see that she is still going strong despite her scaly leg.

Week 41 - Harlequin Ducks - We were very happy to find these ducks. Now we have pictures of all the duck species in Alberta.

Beautiful image. They are such pretty ducks, they are only here in the winter and always stay far from shore in rough water. Congratulations on getting photographs of all your duck species!

Thanks so much Hali. We feel very fortunate to have seen them.

Week 2 : Echos of the Past
Remnants of past eras of homesteading on the prairies in Canada have remained for decades but are now deteriorating at an increased rate. Most collapse soon after they get to this stage and then vanish, erasing their existence, so future generations do not have them as a reminder of their history.

I really like the color of the grass and how you showed the wear and tear of the building. Nice shot!
