Your Photo of the Week

Week 23. A common buzzard warming itself in the sun. Pity that I clipped the highlights a little.

Thanks Tim. We are getting there. Missing the photography, big time. 30 daily sessions of RT does wear a bit heavy. But onwards and upwards.
That does sound heavy going Brian! I hope the RT sessions soon come down and you are able to spend more time behind the camera again.

A beautiful little bird. I have an ornament of this little bird that I purchased in Britain when we were there on holidays years ago. Lovely shot.

Totally lost the plot regarding which week of 52 we are now in. Photos, not a big problem. Counting, mmmmmmmmm not so good! LOL. We must be heading for 40. For a change I thought a photo of Ali ......

Beautiful sunset. Back lighting so effective.

Just having a play in PS. The original was taken on my R6 with RF 70-200. I love her intensity

What do you normally shoot Brian ?
Hiya Simon, Dogs, dogs and dogs. I am a late comer to photography but I have always been fascinated by good photographers. My main hobby throughout my life is working dogs and training them. It was also my last career. It seemed second nature to combine the two. So 90% of my photos are of dogs as we do working competitions most weekends throughout the year. The rest of my photography is just walk about and unplanned (which I love). Of late i am delving into Photoshop and i am trying out a mini studio in the spare room (to take photos of my dog!) What about you?

UPDATE: Simon hit on great topic here. We all spend hours admiring each others work, but we know bugger all about each other. Maybe we could all do a mini profile related to our hobby/job and also post our all time favourite photo? Just an idea!

Hi Brian,
We have similar interests. I have been running a small business photographing working dogs, gun dogs, scenting dogs and such (as well as pets) for 10 years or more. I'm sure we could trade a few techniques.

Yeh, we do. I love my days out with the dogs at competition. It is always a challenge, lots of unexpected light changes etc. We have to adapt to the situation. When we get "the" image. its like Christmas.

Week 25. A little female chaffinch in the garden. Unfortunately this one has a leg lesion, commonly known as ‘scaly leg’ or ‘tassel foot’. Despite this they appeared to be in good spirits.

I see a lot of mutations like that on the birds at our feeder. Someone said it could be our bad hygiene at the feeders. Such a shame.
